Public libraries are in service for more than six decades in Nepal. There are many public/community libraries registered in Nepal. Moreover, those which are functional are either poorly equipped or do not have the resources or the means to cater to the needs of a modern society. Following the definition of UNESCO/IFLA, public libraries are not yet established in Kathmandu.
Initiated public library services from two-rented Blocks in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu from 2061 BS
Collected more than 60 thousands books, reports, periodicals from different agencies, organizations and individual basis.
Book reading facilities, periodical section, book lending facilities, e-library, children section and reference section are current services of the library
Basic Library Management Training and organization of interaction programs on current issues
Providing technical support services to the community libraries of outside valley.
